Steven Kwan led all MLB outfielders in 2025 with 22 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS), solidifying his reputation as a defensive standout. In addition to his defensive prowess, Kwan earned his second All-Star selection this season.
Since debuting in 2022, Kwan has won a Gold Glove in every season, making him 4-for-4 in his major league career. His 22 DRS topped the majors for outfielders, followed by Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela with 20 DRS. No other outfielder exceeded 16 DRS this year.
Kwan was nearly traded at the deadline, but the Guardians retained their All-Star left fielder. His presence contributed to their unlikely September surge, culminating in a second straight AL Central title. Kwan remains under team control through the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Kwan’s streak of four consecutive Gold Gloves to start his career ranks as the third longest in MLB history, behind Nolan Arenado and Ichiro Suzuki, who each won 10 straight. He is also only the fourth player in Cleveland baseball history to win at least four in a row, joining Omar Vizquel (1994–2001), Kenny Lofton (1993–96), and Vic Power (1958–61).
"Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan is batting 1.000 when it comes to collecting Gold Gloves."
Author's summary: Steven Kwan’s exceptional defense and consistent excellence have earned him four straight Gold Gloves, placing him among baseball’s elite in both MLB and Cleveland history.
