Why I Still Love Newspapers
I am a week late to this topic, as I wanted to share my experiences of being in Iraq 20 years ago with the brave men and women of Georgia's 48th Brigade Combat Team and a close encounter with an IED.
Last week was National Newspaper Week, a celebration close to my heart. I have the privilege of sharing my thoughts with you each week, thanks to the editors, and then hearing your feedback.
With nearly three decades in this role, I have formed lasting bonds with regular readers, despite never meeting them in person. You have been with me through life's ups and downs, offering constructive criticism when needed, and reassuring me that my column is being read.
I have the best job in the world.
