Chris Olsen Named 19th President of NMU
Chris Olsen, Ph.D., has been named the 19th president of Northern Michigan University.
Olsen will succeed the 18th NMU President, Brock Tessman, who departed in July of the previous year. He is set to start his position on January 1, 2026.

Olsen's passion for writing and leadership will guide him in his new role. The North Wind, an independent student publication, will continue to serve the Northern Michigan University community.
The North Wind is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee and published daily during the fall and winter semesters, except on university holidays and during exam weeks.
