Harvey Gollahan, charged in connection to the death of 17-month-old Elena Hembree, also known as Baby Elena, has accepted a plea deal.
According to Commonwealth Attorney Michael Taylor, the plea deal will result in Gollahan serving 20 years behind bars.
"The deal is based on what the evidence the state had and could prove in this case,"
Taylor said. The child's mother, Erica Lawson, pleaded guilty to murder earlier in the year and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
A final ruling on the plea deal is expected on November 3.
