A South Holland family's search for the right education led them through public school, private school, and homeschool.
The family's journey began when 9-year-old Alex Foster's grandmother, Allegra Millender-Rogers, and mother, Awrian Rogers, noticed concerns about his education in kindergarten.
Not to discredit all public schools, because lots of times it is the children and it is the environment, but I find that there are not a lot of teachers interested in educating little Black boys. It was the same way I felt raising my son.
Alex's family tried enrolling him in a high-quality private school, but he still struggled to keep up.
