A chartered plane carrying about 60 South Koreans detained in Cambodia over online scam operations has departed for Incheon.
The plane left Techo International Airport near Phnom Penh for Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul, after a South Korean government response team was dispatched to assist nationals implicated in online scams.
A South Korean college student was recently reported to have been tortured and killed in Cambodia in August, after being lured by a job scam.
This incident has raised growing concerns over criminal rings targeting nationals in the Southeast Asian country.
