Big Sit Results from World Migratory Bird Day

On the previous Saturday, members of the Ely Field Naturalists gathered at the Sandy Point Boat Access on Shagawa Lake in Ely, where they spotted American Pipits and other migratory birds.
- Many other people visited the boat access, filling the parking lot with vehicles and boat trailers.
- The day included the removal of buoys from Burntside Lake and later from Shagawa Lake.
The Big Sit bird counters wrapped up the day, hoping to see many birds and reach 30 species.
