The University of Connecticut women's hockey team skated to a 1-1 draw with the Mercyhurst Lakers on Friday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
The game saw both goals scored on the power play, sending it to overtime and eventually a shootout, which the Huskies won 2-0.
Mercyhurst opened the scoring on the power play five minutes into the first period. Despite multiple attempts from the UConn offense, Lakers netminder Magdalena Luggin made several saves to maintain the lead.
The result moves the Huskies to 4-2-1 overall this season.
