Ben Shapiro (born January 15, 1984, in Burbank, California) is a conservative American political commentator, writer, and podcast host. He is best known for creating and hosting The Ben Shapiro Show, one of the United States’ most widely followed political podcasts.
In 2015, Shapiro cofounded The Daily Wire, a conservative media company producing podcasts, streaming shows, scripted films, and documentaries. By 2024, the company’s estimated value exceeded $220 million.
Shapiro has stated that “people cannot change their gender any more than they can change their age.”
He is prominently known for opposing transgender rights and for his outspoken conservative stance on various cultural and political issues. Although Shapiro did not vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 election, he backed him in 2020 and actively campaigned for him by 2024, while at times criticizing policies such as tariffs.
Raised in Burbank, Los Angeles County, Shapiro grew up in a modest two-bedroom home, sharing a room with his three older sisters. His mother worked as a television executive, and his father was a composer and pianist. Both were supporters of President Ronald Reagan, shaping his early political outlook.
Ben Shapiro is a prominent conservative voice and media entrepreneur whose influence in American politics and culture continues through his podcasts and political commentary.
