The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have achieved a significant milestone in advancing electric mobility, energizing the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station within Canada's largest municipally owned network. This new charger is located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., extending EV access throughout Toronto.
Since 2020, TPA and Toronto Hydro have collaborated to expand the city’s EV charging infrastructure. Toronto Hydro initially launched the network before transferring ownership to TPA in 2023.
“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
TPA President Scott Collier emphasized the importance of growth in their network: “Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers.”
This expansion plays a key role in facilitating easier access to charging options and encouraging adoption of electric vehicles across the city.
The joint effort by Toronto Hydro and TPA has culminated in a robust network of 500 EV chargers, marking a milestone that supports Toronto’s transition to sustainable transportation.
