The Sacramento Kings are preparing to start a five-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday at the Golden 1 Center. However, both teams could face lineup challenges due to key injuries and absences.
Up to three starters may be unavailable for Sacramento. Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis are listed as questionable because of injuries, while Keegan Murray continues to recover from thumb surgery. Coach Doug Christie may need to adjust his lineup depending on final medical evaluations.
Golden State will also miss a major player in Wednesday’s game. Star guard Steph Curry played through a cold during Tuesday’s win over the Phoenix Suns but won’t take the court against Sacramento.
“He’s wiped out right now, so I don’t care what the doctors say,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr told Bay Area reporters. “We’ve got to get him some rest, so I’ll make the decision right now. He’s not going to play.”
Malik Monk returns to the lineup after missing two games for personal reasons. The Kings, now 2-5, recently pulled off a 135-133 upset over the Milwaukee Bucks before closing a demanding road trip with a 130-124 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Kings and Warriors enter Wednesday’s game with significant absences, as Steph Curry rests and several Sacramento starters remain doubtful for action.
