'Today's Craig Melvin Makes Surprising Confession During 'Jenna & Friends' Cohosting Debut

Craig Melvin's 'Jenna & Friends' Cohosting Debut

Several personalities from the 'Today' show made their cohosting debuts on 'Jenna & Friends' this week. Craig Melvin joined Jenna Bush Hager on the fourth hour of Today for the first time on Monday, November 3.

A Rocky Yet Hilarious Start

Melvin commented on the set, saying, “This is a nice set,” before confessing,

“You know, I’ve never seen the show.”

Jenna Bush Hager was surprised by this admission, responding,

“That is so rude.”

Melvin explained that he hadn’t watched because of scheduling conflicts:

“Well, because usually, we’re just getting off. I’m usually in transit, but this is nice. … I know, I could probably watch some of it.”

Praise for Jenna Bush Hager

At the start of the show, Melvin also complimented Bush Hager’s success on 'Jenna & Friends,' noting her ability to cohost with various celebrity guests since Hoda Kotb left the 'Today' show in January.

“What you have managed to do over the last few months on this show, from just a purely broadcasting perspective, as the kids would say, real recognize[s] real,”
“To be able to sit next to someone different every day or two and do this, that’s a feat.”

Craig Melvin candidly admitted his limited familiarity with 'Jenna & Friends' due to schedule constraints, while praising Jenna Bush Hager's adaptable cohosting skills.
