Kevin Durant opened up about his stance on marriage and relationships during an episode of Bobbi Althoff's podcast, Not This Again. The 37-year-old NBA star expressed that he has no desire to get married, citing the high likelihood of divorce as a key reason.
“Do I want to be with this somebody every day?” Durant questioned, reflecting on the realities of a lifelong commitment.
He emphasized that he is not actively seeking a relationship and prefers connections with fewer expectations. Durant explained that the idea of constantly spending time with the same person daily isn't something he desires.
Durant acknowledged the common statistic that around 50% of marriages end in divorce but remains wary of committing to those odds. When host Bobbi Althoff remarked that Durant regularly faces tougher odds in basketball, he responded that betting on marriage feels like committing to something "forever," which he is uncertain about.
Regarding weddings, Durant revealed he never imagined having a traditional ceremony. He stated that attending weddings has never been a significant event for him.
“I never really dreamt of having a wedding day. It was never really when I go to weddings. This is cool."
Kevin Durant values relationships without rigid expectations and remains skeptical about marriage due to its high risk of ending, choosing personal freedom over traditional commitments.
