Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson, a former professional football player, is scheduled for a parole hearing this July, as confirmed by the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC). The department stated that an exact date has not yet been determined.
Simpson has been serving a 33-year prison term for charges including kidnapping, armed robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon. He has been incarcerated at the Lovelock Correctional Center in northeastern Nevada since 2007.
The 69-year-old athlete was famously acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. Their deaths occurred on June 13, 1994, at Brown Simpson’s Los Angeles home.
“The parole hearing will take place sometime in July,” said the Nevada Department of Corrections.
If deemed eligible, Simpson could be granted parole in October. News 4 and Fox 11 will provide ongoing coverage as updates become available.
