Erika Kirk, widow of slain US conservative activist and strong Israel supporter Charlie Kirk, will accept an award on his behalf during the Christian Media Summit in Jerusalem this week, according to a statement released by the Government Press Office (GPO).
The event will gather more than 100 influential Christian figures, including media representatives, opinion leaders, clergy, and organization heads from various nations. The four-day summit is organized by the GPO in cooperation with Israel’s Foreign Ministry and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
“Over 100 representatives of leading Christian media outlets, opinion leaders, religious figures, and heads of organizations from various countries are expected to attend,” said the GPO.
The summit’s objectives include strengthening awareness of Israeli society, countering antisemitism on social media, and presenting Israel as a dynamic, diverse, and open society.
Four months before his assassination at a US college in September, Charlie Kirk wrote to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In his letter, he criticized Israel’s approach to digital outreach and proposed ways to enhance its global public diplomacy, offering to meet personally with the prime minister to discuss these improvements.
The gathering comes amid internal US conservative debates concerning antisemitism and anti-Israel attitudes within their ranks.
Erika Kirk will honor her late husband’s commitment at a Jerusalem summit uniting Christian figures to promote Israel’s image and confront global antisemitism.
