The cast for the upcoming Beatles biopics has been finalized, featuring Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as the wives of the Fab Four.
Each character was married to a member of the Beatles during their peak fame in the 1960s.
The four films, directed by Sam Mendes, will depict the band members’ rise to worldwide stardom from Liverpool in the early 1960s to their breakup in 1970.
This is the first authorized theatrical feature film for which the Beatles and their descendants have granted music and life rights.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said Mendes.
Linda Eastman met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer.
Variety had earlier revealed the actors' involvement, but their contracts were finalized only this week, prompting official confirmation by Sony Pictures.
Author’s summary: This four-film project ambitiously explores the Beatles' iconic journey through the perspectives of each member and the women who stood by them, backed by full life and music rights for the first time.
