The annual Remembrance Day event in Fort St. John will take place on Tuesday, November 11th, starting at 10:40 a.m. This occasion honors fallen Canadian soldiers and recognizes the service of living veterans and active military members.
The parade, organized by the local Royal Canadian Legion branch, will start outside the School District 60 office on 102nd Street. It will proceed along 105th Avenue past the legion building, proceed to City Hall, and then return to the cenotaph for an outdoor ceremony.
After the ceremony, participants are invited to the legion for various activities, including horse races, a turkey shoot, and dinner. These activities are free and open to everyone, with no need for pre-registration.
The City of Fort St. John announced that roads along the parade route and near the legion building will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to noon on November 11th. Vehicle access will be completely restricted during this time.
