Remembrance Day services will take place across the Goulburn Valley on Tuesday, November 11, to honor those who fought and died for Australia.
All ceremonies include a wreath-laying and a minute of silence at 11 a.m.
The Shepparton service will be held at the cenotaph located at the corner of Welsford and Fryers Streets, starting at 10:30 a.m.
The guest speaker is Kyriakos ‘Ken’ Tsirigotis, who served 22 years in the Australian Army, mainly as a reconnaissance paratrooper in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. He later worked at Melbourne Legacy in various capacities, including chief operating officer, and has held several roles on the Victorian Veterans Council. He also led operations for the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay.
A memorial plaque recognizing World War I nurses trained in the Goulburn Valley will be unveiled at the Shepparton cenotaph.
The Mooroopna service will be held at the Mooroopna cenotaph on McLennan Street.
Guest speaker Adrian Ambrose is a former school teacher and retired lawyer.
