Prince Harry recently revealed whether he plans to become a U.S. citizen, and his response might surprise you. It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years since he and Meghan Markle moved to the United States after stepping back from their royal duties.
Since relocating, they have made a home in Montecito, California, launched projects with Netflix through their company Archewell Productions, and enjoyed many joyful moments with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Life in America has treated them well.
During an appearance on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast, Harry was asked directly in the “Royal Rapid Fire” segment about his intentions regarding U.S. citizenship. He replied,
“There are no plans to be, at this point.”
Born in London as a member of the British royal family, Harry still holds British citizenship. The surprising part of his answer is that after five years in America, he does not currently plan to change that status.
While citizenship might not be on the immediate horizon, Harry has embraced life in Los Angeles, even showing support for the local sports scene.
Citizenship aside, Harry seems comfortable and actively engaged in his new surroundings.
Despite five years in the U.S., Prince Harry has no current plans to become a citizen, focusing instead on his life and commitments in Los Angeles with Meghan and their family.
