Comedian Alan Carr has revealed that he fled to Orlando, Florida, ahead of the final episode of the BBC reality show Celebrity Traitors. At 49 years old, Carr is one of the final two Traitors remaining, alongside singer Cat Burns, 25.
Known for his sharp wit and giggly personality, Carr has become a social media sensation during the show. However, he joked about being the “most hated man in the UK” due to the backlash his role has generated.
“I'm the most hated man in the UK, I've had to come here to Orlando to get away from it. Everyone hates me!”
Speaking on Heart radio with hosts Olly Murs and Mark Wright, Carr explained he needed a break from the pressure. “I just needed to get away because it's stressful murdering every day. My Christmas card list is getting smaller and smaller.”
Murs suggested Carr could dress up as a Traitor at the Universal Studios theme park, noting the Traitors-style cape available at Harry Potter World. Carr responded humorously that he came for a break, joking he might even ride the water slide at Universal's Volcano Bay while wearing the cape and holding a Traitors lantern.
Additionally, Carr recently disclosed that his close friend Paloma Faith is “not happy” with his behaviour on the show.
Alan Carr has retreated to the US to escape the fallout from his role on Celebrity Traitors, humorously claiming he is now the UK’s “most hated man” amid mounting social pressure.
