Prince Harry apologises to Canada for wearing LA Dodgers cap at World Series

Prince Harry has apologised to Canadians for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers cap during the World Series game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The match took place last Tuesday and ended with the Dodgers winning the series in a seventh and deciding game on Sunday.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, were photographed at the game, where Harry appeared in Dodgers merchandise. Speaking to the Canadian broadcaster CTV, he explained that he had worn the hat reluctantly after being invited to the team’s dugout by the club owner.

"Firstly, I would like to apologise to Canada for wearing it," he said. "Secondly, I was under duress. There wasn't much choice."

Prince Harry joked about his choice of headwear, hinting that it was also a practical decision.

"When you're missing a lot of hair on top, and you're sitting under floodlights, you'll take any hat that's available," he joked.

He added that he had supported Toronto throughout the final rounds: "Game five, game six, game seven, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I've admitted that, it's going to be pretty hard for me to return back to Los Angeles."
