Ukrainian Cultural Delegation Inspires Budapest Schoolchildren with Music and Hope

Ukrainian cultural representatives visited schools in Budapest, aiming to share Ukrainian culture through music and foster hope amid ongoing conflict. The event took place at the invitation of the Ukrainian ambassador to Hungary with Professor Fedor Shandor present. The Ukrainian Cultural Landing engaged with students from Ukrainian-Hungarian schools in Budapest.

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary, the event was documented on Facebook. Volunteer soldiers, who have been defending Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war, held a heartfelt meeting with the pupils. The purpose was to showcase Ukraine’s cultural richness via performances of music, words, and songs.

Previously, the Cultural Landing performed in the Netherlands as part of a tour. The audience was captivated by the sound of bandura played by Taras Stolyar, a Merited Artist of Ukraine, blending traditional and modern elements.

“Children and teachers enjoyed the wonderful sound of the bandura performed by the Merited Artist of Ukraine Taras Stolyar, who deftly blended Ukrainian authentic performance with the contemporary. The voice of the Merited Artist Yuriy Ivaskevich moved everyone to tears, and Mykola Serga especially touched the young Ukrainian audience with the song ‘Home’,”
according to the post.

During the event, Mykola Serga shared a message of shared hope with the children:

“We have come to you today, and we believe that very soon you will come to us… home.”
