Before saying goodbye to the hit Netflix show, David Harbour walks the streets of New York with Esquire Spain. A version of this article appeared in the November 2025 issue of Esquire Spain magazine.
On 26 November, Netflix’s Stranger Things begins its much-anticipated three-part farewell. Thanksgiving Day will launch the first four episodes of season eight, followed by three more on Christmas Day. The series finale will air on New Year’s Eve, marking the end of the streaming platform’s most successful original series.
This finale concludes a decade-long journey for David Harbour, who gained worldwide recognition playing Hawkins, Indiana's police chief, Jim Hopper.
With fans eagerly awaiting the conclusion, the second half of 2025 promises intense media attention for Harbour. This interest surged further following a surprise album release last week, amplifying the spotlight on the actor.
In September, before the pop drama unfolded, Esquire Spain’s Rafael Sánchez Casademont interviewed Harbour about his career, the bittersweet ending of Stranger Things, and his future plans. The following is an edited excerpt.

David Harbour shares insights from his decade-long journey on Stranger Things, reflecting on the show's impact, life lessons, and his future beyond Hawkins.
