As the Malveaux era begins its second season on the Plains, a new wave of athletes is ready to wear the Orange and Blue at Jane B. Moore Field. Among them is a talented left-handed pitcher from Killen, Alabama — Abby Herndon, who joins the Tigers after her time with Ole Miss.
Though Herndon did not appear in games during her first collegiate season, she arrives with strong credentials, having been a three-time all-state selection at Brooks High School. Her deep commitment to softball began in early childhood and continues to shape her athletic journey.
“I was four when I started tee ball. I was around six when I actually started playing with a softball.”
“We would always be in the yard, hitting off the tee and practicing at a very young age.”
“I got her book when I was 10 and read it. She was always a player I watched.”
“Always enjoy the game and never stop learning from it.”
Author’s summary: Abby Herndon’s early dedication, family practice sessions, and admiration for role models have shaped a promising pitcher now stepping onto Auburn’s field.
