Cochrane may become the new location for the 2026 Ironman 70.3 Calgary triathlon if the town council approves the proposal. Platinum Racing Events, the organizers of Ironman 70.3 Calgary, have suggested relocating the event after Harmony Park became unavailable due to construction.
Now in its 17th year, the event is expected to attract about 1,100 athletes from up to 26 countries, more than 500 spectators, and 300 volunteers. Around 40% of athletes are anticipated to travel over 300 kilometres to compete. Last year, participants came from 16 countries.
