“It’s not a big deal, but there might be slushy grass and walkways with less than an inch of flakes,” said Birk.
Precipitation chances on Saturday are estimated at 90% by officials.
At O’Hare and Midway airports, conditions are partly cloudy with temperatures at 55 degrees. Winds range from 5 to 10 mph, with gusts near 20 mph expected Thursday night.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast between midnight and 3 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
