Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou, 37, who collaborated with actor Jeremy Renner, 54, on a documentary and an animated film, has accused him of sending her explicit material and behaving aggressively while intoxicated.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Zhou described several disturbing incidents that took place during their professional collaboration, including one meeting at Renner’s home that turned volatile after he consumed alcohol.
"I was discussing the documentary logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and started yelling for two hours," Zhou said. "I had to share my location with my team, my parents, and Disney colleagues in case something happened to me."
"I locked myself in a room to stay safe, praying he wouldn’t come in at night as he was really angry. I didn’t say a word—I was terrified for my life," she added.
Zhou also alleged that Renner threatened to call immigration authorities after their relationship deteriorated. She initially made the accusations public through a series of posts on Instagram earlier this week.
Filmmaker Yi Zhou alleges that actor Jeremy Renner sent her explicit content, became verbally abusive while drunk, and threatened her safety during their professional collaboration.
