Chicago Weather: Upcoming Snow Threat and Weekend Outlook

Mild and breezy conditions will continue through Friday before a weekend storm brings cooler temperatures. FOX 32's Mike Caplan provides today's weather update.

Midweek Weather

Chicago will experience mild November weather for the remainder of the workweek. Today will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny, with highs in the lower 60s. Winds will be lighter than yesterday but will increase tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight’s low temperatures will stay in the 50s, close to the normal high for this time of year. Tomorrow, the region is expected to see the third consecutive day with highs above 60°F, accompanied by a mix of clouds and sun. Winds will be gusty, reaching up to 30 mph.

Storms and Cooler Weekend

On Thursday, the next storm system begins its approach. During the day, it will remain dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Thursday night into Friday morning, showers and possibly embedded thunder are forecasted to cross the area.

After the showers clear Friday morning, conditions will be breezy and mild again, with highs returning to the lower 60s.

The weekend brings the arrival of another storm system, likely Saturday afternoon. Showers are expected with highs in the lower 50s, followed by a surge of much colder air on Sunday.

Precipitation should end Sunday morning and clear most areas before the Bears game.

"There is much ballyhoo already about potential snow arriving Sunday or Monday and here’s what I will say about that: The US model has scaled back its ridiculous snowfall prediction from yesterday."

Summary: Mild weather with breezy conditions persists through Friday, followed by a weekend storm bringing showers, cooler temperatures, and reduced likelihood of heavy snow.
