Jennifer Lawrence Wants Skinny Jeans to Stay Dead

Jennifer Lawrence Wants Skinny Jeans to Stay Dead

It’s 3:00 p.m. on a Wednesday in SoHo. Outside the soon-to-open Longines boutique, a curious crowd has gathered: photographers, stylish tourists, and shoppers pausing to see what the buzz is about. One couple asks, and a passing man smiles brightly, saying:

“Jennifer Lawrence is in there!”

Inside, the Oscar-winning actor sits comfortably in an accent chair, exuding star power while maintaining her trademark grounded charm. She wears a brown sweater layered with a matching cardigan draped over her shoulders and a short black skirt featuring a double-fold design. Adjusting the hem, she explains:

“It’s a sweater over a sweater, but I didn’t put a skirt over a skirt.”

(The entire outfit, in fact, is by The Row, designed by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.)

Lawrence is at the boutique to celebrate its opening and the launch of Longines’ latest watch model.

“The PrimaLuna,” she says, extending her arm to display it. “I don’t normally call watches by their government names, but it’s elegant. I only recently started wearing watches as jewelry, and I think it’s a really beautiful piece.”

The PrimaLuna marks the revival of a classic moonphase design from the 193-year-old Swiss watchmaker Longines.
