Under a calm morning sky, the flags of the United Nations and Qatar were raised together in Doha on Sunday, signaling the start of the Second World Summit for Social Development.
The ceremony officially marked the United Nations’ assumption of the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) as the site where global leaders will convene to strengthen the international social pact.
The event took place at the expansive conference center and was attended by high-ranking officials from both Qatar and the UN. UN security personnel and Qatar’s Lekhwiya police stood guard beside the flagpoles, underscoring the event's significance.
