On October 14, 2025, youth reporters from KidScoop Media spoke with education activist Malala Yousafzai via Zoom to discuss her new memoir Finding My Way. The book shares her experiences as a student at Oxford University, offering an honest portrayal of balancing academics, advocacy, and personal growth.
Malala’s memoir explores the everyday challenges and triumphs of studying while working to advance global education. She writes about learning to prioritize mental health, navigate self-care, and understand what it means to fall in love while under public scrutiny.
“I have come against criticism, comments my whole life. And you know, I have now grown through it… I try to take any positive recommendation that can be helpful, but then there’s a lot that is not helpful at all and doesn’t add anything to the mission that I am focused on. So, sometimes, the best way is to avoid it.”
Through both the memoir and the interview, Malala invites readers and young journalists to reflect on perseverance, purpose, and staying true to one’s mission even amid constant attention and judgment.
