The state weather agency has raised the likelihood of rainfall to 100% for several provinces in the Andalucía region on Wednesday.
Following the recent period of unstable weather, the first week of November is expected to be fundamentally transitional, with high pressure moving northwards and inland toward Europe. Still, residents are advised not to stow away their umbrellas just yet.
“We have a wet week ahead for most of the country. Several Atlantic fronts will bring locally heavy rains to various regions, with accumulations potentially exceeding 100 mm,” said Samuel Biener, researcher, climatology communicator, and editor at Meteored.
“Models indicate that the frontal system will move across Spain from west to east. This event will be intensified by a high-altitude trough and a moisture stream coming from the Atlantic. As a result, weather maps show significant rainfall in Galicia, with showers extending to Castilla y León, Extremadura, Cantabrian areas, parts of Castilla-La Mancha, and western Andalucía on Wednesday,” Biener added.
Both showers and thunderstorms are set to return midweek to the southern region of Andalucía.
Atlantic weather fronts will bring heavy rain to many parts of Spain, particularly in Andalucía, with meteorologists urging locals to prepare for more storms and accumulations over 100 mm.
