The Boston Bruins extended their winning streak to six games, their longest since the start of the 2023-24 season, with a 5-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday night.
Despite Toronto's strong push to equalize, former Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten scored with less than four minutes remaining to seal the game for Boston. Minten's decisive goal came after William Nylander nearly tied the score, his shot striking both the crossbar and post before bouncing away.
“That's my goal as a player,” said Minten, who was acquired from Toronto in last year's trade involving Brandon Carlo. “I want to be out there playing, so continuing to build on that and earn that trust and earn those minutes, that’s why I play the game.”
Bruins head coach Marco Sturm praised Minten as the game's standout player. Although Minten primarily centers the third line, he often joins the top line during crucial moments, reflecting the coaching staff's confidence in him.
“Fraser Minten has gained the trust of Sturm and his staff to be on the ice during critical times,” a Bruins insider commented.
Minten's contribution was pivotal in maintaining Boston's lead and securing the sixth straight win, underscoring his growing importance to the team.
Boston’s momentum continues as they look to build on this victorious run in upcoming games.
