The 1-7 Indiana Pacers are set to face the 6-2 Denver Nuggets on Saturday night as they aim for their second win of the season. The Pacers begin their four-game road trip against Denver at 9 p.m.
Indiana is coming off a 112-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, who had been winless before that game on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have won three straight games, including an impressive 129-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday.
Last season, Indiana and Denver split their series 1-1. Before the Pacers' 125-120 win on April 6, Indiana had lost nine consecutive games to Denver. On Saturday, the Pacers will try to add another win against the current No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.
The main change in Indiana’s injury report is guard Andrew Nembhard’s updated status. Nembhard suffered a shoulder injury on opening night against the Oklahoma City Thunder and has not played since. However, he is now available to return against Denver.
"Nembhard's return is fantastic news for the Pacers as they deal with numerous injuries in the backcourt."
If Nembhard had not been available, the Pacers would have likely depended on Monte Morris, who was recently acquired and is reportedly available to play against his former team Denver.
The Pacers aim to stop their losing streak against the Nuggets with Andrew Nembhard returning, strengthening an already injury-hit backcourt.
