Pakistan claimed the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 cricket title after defeating Kuwait by 43 runs in the final held at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok on Sunday.
Pakistan’s Abdul Samad smashed a 13-ball 42 against Kuwait in the final.
Posting a strong total of 135 for three in six overs, Pakistan’s opener Abdul Samad and captain Abbas Afridi powered the innings with rapid knocks. Afridi struck a remarkable 52 off just 11 deliveries.
Kuwait, chasing the total, managed only 92 runs in 5.1 overs. Left-arm spinner Maaz Sadaqat made a big impact by taking three wickets to seal Pakistan’s victory.
This was Pakistan’s sixth title triumph in the history of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament.
Kuwait also delivered an impressive tournament run, overcoming India, Afghanistan, and England to secure a place in the final.
India’s campaign faltered after an opening match win over Pakistan. Subsequent losses to Kuwait, the UAE, Nepal, and Sri Lanka saw them crash out early.
Pakistan’s dynamic batting and sharp bowling secured its sixth Hong Kong Sixes crown, as Kuwait’s spirited run ended just short in the final showdown.
