Davina McCall is supported by celebrity pals after cancer diagnosis

Davina McCall Shares Cancer Diagnosis and Support

Davina McCall, 58, recently revealed on social media that she underwent a biopsy after discovering a lump, which was then removed through a lumpectomy just weeks ago. She received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrity friends, including Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster.

Diagnosis and Treatment

In November 2024, Davina announced she was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare benign brain tumour, and underwent surgery to remove it. She emphasized that her cancer was detected "very very early," though she will still undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to ensure she remains cancer-free.

"I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now," Davina shared, thanking her doctors, nurses, family, and fiancé Michael Douglas.

Encouragement and Awareness

Davina encouraged others by captioning her video: "The message here, is know your boobs. Sending out huge love."

She publicly disclosed her diagnosis during her charity event, Dine With Davina, in Southampton. She recalled the influence of Lorraine Kelly, who placed reminder signs to check breasts on doors at the event.

"Every time I went for a wee I did that. It was still there, and then one morning I saw myself in the mirror and thought ‘I’m going to get that looked at,’" she recounted.

Summary

Davina McCall’s early cancer detection and treatment highlight the importance of self-awareness and timely medical check-ups, backed by strong support from loved ones and peers.
