President Ramaphosa Denies Visiting Tembisa Hospital Fraud Suspect's Mansion
The Presidency has denied that President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the Sandton mansion of Hangwani Maumela, a businessman accused of looting millions from Tembisa Hospital.
A video showed Ramaphosa outside Maumela's luxury home in 2023, greeting a radio host. However, Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya explained that the encounter was coincidental, occurring during one of the President's regular walks with Deputy Minister Jomo Sibiya.
Recently, the Special Investigating Unit raided Maumela's home and seized assets worth over R130 million.
The encounter was purely coincidental.
