Albany Woman Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Drunken Crash
A 25-year-old Albany woman, Imahjai Sutherland, has been charged with manslaughter for an alleged drunken crash on 787 that killed her two passengers.
According to State Police, the vehicle was found over an embankment off the northbound lanes in the area of Exit 5 just before 7 a.m. All three people in the vehicle had severe injuries.
- Imahjai Sutherland, the driver, showed signs of intoxication and a blood sample was taken at Albany Medical Center.
- The two passengers, 27-year-old Jamilla N. Tirado and 25-year-old Cepelynn T. Sutherland, were from Albany.
- Imahjai Sutherland was also charged with two counts of second-degree assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, DWI, and other vehicle and traffic violations.
She was taken to the State Police Latham station after being released from the hospital.
