Drink-driver crashed into telecoms pole and tractor in space of just 101 days

Drink-Driver Banned from Roads After Two Crashes

A 37-year-old drink-driver from Bowerchalke has been banned from driving for nearly two years after crashing twice in just over three months.

Lee Colman crashed a Honda into a telecoms pole on High Road in Bishopstone on March 31, losing control of the car when he came around a bend at speed. He was breathalysed and arrested, and a blood sample measured 190 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres, exceeding the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

Just 101 days later, on July 10, Colman crashed a second vehicle, an uninsured Citroen C3, into a tractor while having a child passenger. Police attended the scene after being called by concerned firefighters.

Colman's actions demonstrate a serious disregard for road safety and the well-being of others.

As a result, Colman has been banned from driving by magistrates in Salisbury.

Author's summary: Drink-driver banned for nearly two years.
