Splitting of Attorney-General's Role
President Nikos Christodoulides stated that dividing the role of the attorney-general into two is "necessary".
Addressing a conference, he said:
"is deemed necessary as a measure of modernisation"and mentioned a "societal demand" for the change.
According to Christodoulides, this separation will
"strengthen people's trust in justice, ensure accountability and harmonise our country's situation with European and international standards".
