Postal Service delays are making the already tight newspaper business even harder.

Postal Service Delays Impact Newspaper Business

Delays in the Postal Service are exacerbating the challenges faced by the newspaper industry. Subscribers have reported delays of up to two months in receiving their newspapers.

Jill Friesz, owner of GS Publishing, a company that operates seven weekly newspapers in North Dakota, has experienced firsthand the frustration of subscribers. A subscriber recently visited her office, expressing his anger and disappointment at the consistent delays in delivery.

“He was telling me he was tired of my excuses and that he may as well just quit subscribing to the paper,”

Friesz noted that this subscriber's sentiment is not unique, as many others have called to express similar frustrations, stating that they see no point in subscribing due to the unreliable delivery.

“I have so many frustrated people that call and just say, ‘Well, there’s no point in me getting the newspaper because it never gets delivered to me,’”

Author's summary: Postal delays hinder newspaper delivery.
