Chesapeake Library Situation Under Assessment
The Chesapeake library remains closed indefinitely pending assessment.
According to Gretchen Claypool, director of the library system, work is being done to install temporary shoring in the building due to issues with the roof and foundation.
Once the shoring is installed, a proper assessment of the building can be done, and materials in the library can be transported to a temporary site.
The library has been closed since June and is located at 11054 County Rd. 1.
