Anacortes Woman's Volunteer Labor Clears Historic Rock Amphitheater

Carolyn Chase, 74, spends around four days a week in Cap Sante Park, where she volunteers to clear the historic rock amphitheater.

The amphitheater, which dates back to around 1938, was overgrown with "weeds up to knee-high" and invasive plants, covering its rock walls and seating.

It reminded me of "a real holy place" I knew in Hawaii

Chase's work has transformed areas of the trail and the amphitheater, removing large quantities of weeds and brush.

Author's summary: Volunteer Carolyn Chase clears historic amphitheater.
