A Nigerian man described his experience of being deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in September.

He and other detainees were woken up in the middle of the night, shackled, and told they were being sent to Ghana, despite none of them being from there.

“It was just like a kidnapping,”

The WRAP, referred to as “the burrito” or “the bag,” has become a part of deportations for some immigrants, raising concerns over inhumane treatment.

The Nigerian man is part of a federal lawsuit and shared his experience with The Associated Press from a detainment camp in Ghana.
