Holsworthy Livestock Market Report
The report from this week’s Holsworthy market showed a strong trade for all good meat lambs.
- The 45-46kg lambs sold to a premium, with the top price being 316ppkg for a pen of 46.2kgs from C Littlejohns of Burny Cottage, Hartland.
- Other notable prices included 315ppkg from Mark Dymond of Hollick, Yarnscombe and Mike Down of Whitsley Barton.
- The top price on the day was £156 from Messrs Bolt & Moore of Torrington.
A smaller entry of ewes, mostly lean and lightweight, saw a continued strong trade, with Suffolk x ewes topping at £152 from OVG Dennis & Son of South Tawton.
Texel ewes reached £151 from R May of Henford, Ashwater, while Mules sold to £148 and grazing ewes between £90 & £115.
A mixed entry of quality, with framed lambs very much sought after.
