President Ramaphosa Suspends Inspector-General of Intelligence
President Cyril Ramaphosa has suspended the Inspector-General of Intelligence, Mr. Imtiaz Fazel, pending an investigation by Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence (JSCI) into his conduct.
The suspension is with immediate effect, as stated by Vincent Magwenya, Spokesperson to the President, on 15 October 2025.
Mr. Fazel has been suspended pending a decision in an investigation by Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence (JSCI) into the Inspector-General’s conduct.
This decision is pending the outcome of the JSCI investigation.
