Rabbi Shmuel Yosef Plotkin, 97, OBM
Rabbi Shmuel Yosef Littman Plotkin, an elder Chossid from Crown Heights and the first Shliach to Bardichev, Ukraine, passed away on Shabbos morning, 19 Tishrei, 5786.
A longtime resident of Crown Heights, he was a businessman, activist, and scholar, devoting his later years to study and prayer. He served as the Rov of Getzel’s Shul in Crown Heights for many years, reciting a maamer by heart every Shabbos until recent months.
