The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is expected to approach the Sun on October 29 and 30, passing at a distance of 1.4 au (130 million miles or 210 million kilometers) inside Mars' orbit.
Detected on July 1, 2025, by the ATLAS survey telescope in Chile, Comet 3I/ATLAS is now a subject of intense study among astronomers and scientists.
