Mardi Gras Parades Return to Jefferson in 2026
The Mardi Gras parades will once again travel along Downtown Lafayette's main strip, entering Jefferson Street at East Cypress Street.
According to Lafayette's Mayor-President,
"The return of Lafayette's Mardi Gras route to its original downtown location marks a meaningful moment for our community,"after test runs ensured floats could safely maneuver downtown's infrastructure.
- The parades will start at the intersection of Surrey and Simcoe Streets.
- They will then turn on North Chestnut Street and travel along West Second Street.
- The main parade route will now cross through Downtown, in addition to smaller parades like Krewe de Canailles.
