The Lawrence school board has approved its priorities for the Kansas Legislature, emphasizing academic freedom, local control, and fully-funded special education.
On Monday, the board members voted 5-0 in favor of the 2026 legislative priorities without any additional discussion or feedback.
Notably, Board President GR Gordon-Ross was absent, and board member Anne Costello had submitted her resignation on the same day.
